Terse

This weekend was lovely - all the kids were relaxed and we did just enough to keep them happy. Saturday morning was tennis, ostensibly for Minnie and Jim, but in the event it was beyond Jim's ability so I entertained him while Min had a go. We then went to the park and hit balls around in the rain. Jim's favourite game was being ballboy for me and Caroline. Strange, but potentially useful... In the afternoon we went to Newman's birthday party and stayed until the children were bored with the hammock. Then we went to the Hemingford Rd street party, which was fun despite them having hired Cambridge's worst children's entertainer to do the Punch & Judy show.

Making hugely-iced fairy cakes:

Chalk drawing on the road (this was a big hit with ours):
A Doctor Who antibody. He was very proud of this:

Sunday we went swimming. Tried the Abbey but it was packed due to Parkside being closed, so we drove 27 miles to the pirate pool at Bury, a decision which met with approval from the children. The rest of the day was just nice and chilled. That's it really.
